Arizona Republican candidate calls for forced labor camps for illegal immigrants

SusanG at DailyKos notes that Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Don Goldwater has called for forced labor camps for illegal immigrants.

Goldwater, who is vying against Len Munsil for the GOP gubernatorial nomination (the primary is September 12), is far, far down in the polls against Democratic incumbent Governor Janet Napolitano. But Goldwater's campaign may have noticed that a recent poll shows Arizona voters trust Republicans more than Democrats on immigration issues (44 percent to 33 percent) and may be hoping to create a wedge issue.

According to the Asian American Action Fund, Asian Americans make up 2.3 percent of the population of Arizona. That's enough to make a critical difference in a close election -- and help break the wedge.

The AsiansVote recommendation? Vote for anyone running against Don Goldwater -- and vote against any candidate who campaigns with him or supports him.
