From News 8 Austin:
The city of Austin wants to invest $5 million in the Asian American community. In November voters will be asked to pass Proposition 4, which budgets $31.5 million for community and cultural facilities.
On Saturday, the city held the second of several public workshops to plan for an Asian American Resource Center. The city plans to build on 15 acres of land in Northeast Austin off Cameron Road.
Nice. Tell your friends in Austin to keep an eye open for this one. And kudos to Austin City Council member
Jennifer Kim, who appears to have played a role in getting the $5 million earmarked for the Asian American Resource Center. Another good example of the value of electing Asian American politicians wherever we can.
