Thumbs up to Asian American Democrat and Iraq War veteran Tammy Duckworth, who's coming out swinging at every opportunity in her campaign for the 6th Congressional Seat in Illinois. Her Republican opponent Peter Roskam just held a fundraiser with President Bush and Speaker of the House Hastert, and this is what Duckworth had to say:
"I hope he'll suggest to the president that his policy in Iraq needs adjustment," said Duckworth, a decorated Iraqi war veteran who lost both of her legs in the war. "I hope he'll suggest to (House) Speaker (Dennis) Hastert that there are some things more important than partisan politics -- like protecting our children from sexual predators."
