Do 169 people speak for all Asian Americans in California?

Here's a little known fact about the California exit poll that's caused such a ruckus by showing Clinton beating Obama 75 to 23 percent among Asian Americans: those numbers come from interviews with just 169 voters.
According to the small print at the bottom of this Los Angeles Times article, the National Election Pool Exit Poll conducted by Edison/Mitofsky included interviews with 1811 voters on the day of the California Democratic primary and 300 absentee and/or early voters. That's 2111 voters in total. Asians made up eight percent of the total number interviewed -- for the magic number of 169.
Even with such a small sample, the poll could still be accurate. And it's probably smart for Obama supporters in particular to treat it as such -- it's always better to over rather than underestimate the other side's strength. But in an election season when the polls have already been spectacularly wrong, it's worth taking all new data with a massive grain of salt.
